“Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.”
- Barack Obama.
This is not all that we are.
I am a Licensed Mental Health Therapist in the State of Washington. I have extensive experience working with the LGBTQ community (and identify within the community), am open and affirming of kink/polyam relationships, and provide letters for trans care. I view my work from a feminist and social justice lens.
I specialize in relational psychodynamic therapies which focus on depth of identity and self: what motivates you; where do you find meaning in life; how have your relationships with family and significant others shaped who you are? I view my therapeutic practice as a space in which I can live out my belief that relationship is a deep resource for healing even as it a place of wounding for many of us.
Therapy is a sacred, messy, and sometimes confusing process. My overall intentions when I go to work with someone are to create a space that feels safe, that is non-judgmental, and that encourages reflection, curiosity, and creativity.
Experience
I hold a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from The Seattle School of Theology & Psychology and completed over 600 hours of supervised practicum and internship training. I have worked with individuals navigating depression, anxiety, trauma, grief and loss, addiction and recovery, relationship challenges, family-of-origin wounds, disordered eating, insomnia, anger, and periods of deep hopelessness. I remain engaged in ongoing weekly supervision and group consultation to ensure thoughtful, high-quality care.
My clinical background includes training at Compass Health Adult Extended Care and Seattle Therapy Alliance (now MEND), where I also received focused education in Critical Social Theory and the impact of systems of oppression on mental health. From 2016 to 2022, I worked at Seattle Counseling Service—one of the world’s oldest queer-focused mental health organizations—serving in roles including Mental Health Therapist, Substance Use Counselor, Internship Program Coordinator, and Associate Director of Clinical Services. These experiences continue to inform my commitment to providing affirming, compassionate therapy where clients can show up fully as themselves.
